The Ways We Give Back
Continued Service to Society
Whether deploying on a disaster response mission, providing holiday assistance, or participating in other continued service opportunities, our Members say that giving back to others leaves them with a deeply gratified feeling. Working alongside peers who understand what they have been through promotes camaraderie, feelings of empowerment and a renewed sense of purpose.
Members and Volunteers deployed on disaster response missions use their training and skills, and provide immediate “impact assistance” through tree and debris removal, muck-out operations, covering roofs & windows, distributing food & water, and other meaningful tasks.
Throughout the year, we host challenging events in which our Sheep Dogs can participate. Past adventures have included obstacle races, skydiving, whitewater rafting, big game & bird hunts, ruck marches, and scuba diving.
These adventures give our Membership – and sponsored Sheep Dogs who have been injured in combat or the line of duty – opportunities to reengage in life. Participants have a new focus, revitalized self-confidence, and are reminded that they can continue making a difference in their communities and their country.Volunteer
