1st Annual SDIA MAT Kids Tournament

groupOur MAT Kids program is having its first charity tournament on April, 27th. The kids are very excited and have been training hard. Our good friends and sponsor, Triton Fight Center in Broken Arrow, OK, is hosting the event. This is an opportunity for our kids to meet other young people that enjoy jiu jitsu, and an opportunity to grow our MAT Kids family. This is also a chance for us to push one of our MAT Kids missions of encouraging our nations Sheep Dogs to mentor children that have been exposed to bullying. These young people gain self confidence, enabling them to stand up to bullies if needed, and also provides a valuable asset in the form of a mentor, a Sheep Dog.

Disaster Relief Mission to Hattiesburg, MS

001A Sheep Dog IA team from northwest Arkansas spent the week in Hattiesburg and Petal, Mississippi, assisting with disaster relief in the aftermath of a tornado that struck in the early evening of Feb. 11th. Our SDIA team members assisted with recovery efforts, clean-up, and handed out supplies to families in need.
Our team members are amazed on every mission by the outpouring of support and assistance given by other volunteer disaster relief organizations, to the point that we should no longer be surprised. We live in a great country, surrounded by caring and giving people that are always ready and willing to support neighbors and communities in need.

A Very Successful 2012 Thanksgiving Outreach

This years Thanksgiving program was very successful. We were able to feed more than 300 Sheep Dogs and their family members. We cannot say Thank You enough to our supporters and volunteers for making this years outreach the best yet. Our ability to assist fellow Sheep Dogs and their families in need is the key to our overall mission.
Most of the families we helped this year are struggling to make ends meet during the holidays, others dealing with family challenges that make this time of year all the more difficult.
