Heroes Ranch Training Facility is NOW OPEN!

There was no better way to celebrate SDIA’s 13th Anniversary on July 13, 2023, than by hosting the Grand Opening, ribbon cutting, and building dedications for our brand new Heroes Ranch Training Facility (HRTF)!

We are thrilled with this beautiful facility where we will host our Outdoor Adventures and Warrior PATHH training programs. But we couldn’t have completed this $1.2 million dollar debt-free, state-of-the-art facility without the help and support of many donors and companies. HUGE thanks go out to the following companies.

Building Dedications

Each of the rooms and buildings has been named and dedicated in honor of a Sheep Dog who lost their lives in the line of duty or – in the case of the Tuskegee Airmen – made history with their service.

  • The north dorm was named Officer Kevin Apple Lodge for Pea Ridge Police Department Officer Kevin Apple who was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 26, 2021.
  • The south dorm was named Sgt Nicole Gee Lodge for US Marine Corps Sgt Nicole Gee who lost her life in the devastating Afghanistan airport bombings August 26, 2021.
  • The main building was named Tuskegee Hall for the valiant and courageous service of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.
  • The classroom in Tuskegee Hall was named the SFC Eric Emond Classroom for Marine and Soldier SFC Eric Emond who lost his life fighting in Afghanistan November 27, 2018. Emond was the first Marine Lance Nutt enlisted into service.

Construction Process

On Veterans Day, November 11, 2021, we officially broke ground on the Heroes Ranch Training Facility (HRTF) on the hill overlooking Darbonne & Engleman Lodges and the stables. The HRTF is a multi-use building with a classroom, large kitchen and dining area, a lounge and dorm rooms to house students and participants.
