Continued Service in Northwest Arkansas: Volunteers Needed for Young Marines Program

Continued Service doesn’t always require traveling far or deploying into crisis zones. Sometimes, the most powerful impact happens right here at home.

In Northwest Arkansas, a vital youth mentorship program is at risk of shutting down unless a small number of volunteers step forward. This is a timely opportunity for those who believe in leadership, accountability, and showing the next generation what service looks like in action.

A Local Need with Real Impact

The Young Marines Program of Benton County provides structured mentorship, discipline, and positive role models for local youth. The Benton County Juvenile Probation Office frequently utilizes the program as a trusted referral option for young people who need guidance, consistency, and encouragement to get back on a healthy path.

At this moment, the program needs three volunteers to continue operating.

Without additional support, this important resource for local youth and families may be forced to pause or close.

Why This Matters to SDIA

At Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, Continued Service is a core part of our mission. We believe service does not end with a uniform. It evolves into leadership, mentorship, and presence within our communities.

This opportunity aligns directly with what many Sheep Dogs seek after active service:

  • Purpose beyond the mission
  • Meaningful local impact
  • Opportunities to lead, mentor, and guide others
  • A way to stay engaged without burnout

Mentorship programs like Young Marines help build resilience, discipline, and confidence in youth who need it most. When experienced leaders step in, communities grow stronger.

Continued Service Starts Close to Home

Service doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like consistency. Showing up. Standing steady. Helping young people find their footing when the path feels uncertain.

That kind of service matters deeply.

Thank you for continuing to live out the mission of Continued Service and for helping strengthen communities across Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
