550 Go Bags Packed: Walmart and Sam’s Club Associates Support SDIA Disaster Response Missions
When disaster strikes, preparation matters.
Thanks to an incredible collaboration between Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA), Walmart, Sam’s Club, and several generous donors, SDIA’s Disaster Response Mission teams are now better equipped to answer the call when communities need help most.
Recently, 56 Walmart and Sam’s Club associates came together at Sam Walton Hall to pack 550 Disaster Response Mission Go Bags for Sheep Dog Impact Assistance.
The volunteers, representing Walmart’s GSOC, EOC, Security, and other departments, worked side by side to assemble hundreds of bags containing essential supplies for SDIA Disaster Response Mission volunteers and the people they serve following natural disasters.
For SDIA, those 550 bags represent more than supplies. They represent readiness.
Preparing to Serve Before Disaster Strikes
Sheep Dog Impact Assistance’ Disaster Response Mission program mobilizes trained volunteers to assist communities impacted by hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildfires, and other disasters.
When a disaster occurs, conditions can be unpredictable. Volunteers may spend long days clearing debris, removing fallen trees, helping residents access damaged properties, distributing supplies, or assisting with other critical recovery efforts.
Having essential supplies packed and ready allows SDIA teams to focus on the mission when it is time to deploy.
Each of the 550 Go Bags contains useful items for demanding disaster-response environments, including:
- Electrolytes
- Work gloves
- Safety glasses
- Earplugs
- Safety whistles
- Hygiene products
- Shower wipes
- Trash bags for wet or dirty clothing
- Energy drinks
- JUNK Brands headbands
- Additional disaster-response essentials
These supplies help support both SDIA volunteers working in affected communities and citizens navigating the difficult days following a disaster.

The pack-out demonstrated what can happen when organizations and individuals bring their resources, time, and talents together in service to others.
