Fall at SDIA: Thanksgiving Outreach, Turkey Trot & 2027 Heroes Gala Save the Date
The leaves are changing, Thanksgiving is approaching, and the Sheep Dog Impact Assistance calendar is filling with opportunities to serve, remember, connect, and #GetOffTheCouch®.
This fall, we’re inviting the SDIA community to join us for two meaningful Thanksgiving traditions: our Thanksgiving Outreach and Turkey Trot honoring Fallen Heroes.
And while we’re looking ahead, there’s one more date you’ll want on your calendar: the 2027 SDIA Heroes Gala.
Here’s what’s coming up.
Thanksgiving Outreach: Serving Those Who Served Others
Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, but at Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, we believe gratitude is even more powerful when we put it into action.
Through our annual Thanksgiving Outreach, SDIA brings together volunteers, supporters, community partners, Veterans, First Responders, and their families to make the holiday a little brighter for members of our Sheep Dog community.
It’s a simple idea with a big heart: take care of the people who have spent their lives taking care of others.
Whether that means donating, volunteering, helping provide Thanksgiving meals, or supporting the effort from afar, there is a place for our community to get involved.

Every meal, donation, volunteer hour, and helping hand represents something larger: a community reminding our nation’s Sheep Dogs that they aren’t alone.
Turkey Trot: Run, Walk & Remember
Before the turkey hits the table, we’re getting off the couch.
The SDIA Turkey Trot brings our community together for a Thanksgiving tradition built around movement, connection, gratitude, and remembrance.
Run it. Walk it. Bring the kids. Gather a team. Wear the ridiculous turkey hat if that’s your particular calling. 🦃
The pace isn’t the point.
Showing up is.
This event also provides an opportunity to honor the military members, Veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and other First Responders who are no longer with us.
