Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) is honored to announce that SDIA Heroes Ranch has been named a Co-Winner of the 2026 Non-Profit of the Year Award by the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce.
This meaningful recognition celebrates the impact of Heroes Ranch on military Veterans, First Responders, and their families, as well as the community partnerships that help make SDIA’s mission possible.
Representatives of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance joined local business leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community members for an evening of celebration and recognition hosted by the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce.
For SDIA, this award represents more than an organizational achievement. It is a reflection of the people and partnerships that have helped make Heroes Ranch a place of connection, belonging, and renewed purpose.
Proud to Call McDonald County Home
Nestled in the beautiful countryside of southwest Missouri, SDIA Heroes Ranch is a place where our nation’s military Veterans, First Responders, and their families can step away from everyday challenges, reconnect with others who understand their experiences, and discover opportunities for personal growth.
While participants travel from across the country to experience SDIA’s programs, Heroes Ranch is deeply rooted in the McDonald County community.
This is where our mission comes to life.
It is where Veterans and First Responders gather around campfires, challenge themselves through outdoor adventures, develop meaningful relationships, and discover that their experiences do not have to define their futures.
And behind those experiences is a community that continues to show up.
From local businesses supporting events and programs to volunteers generously sharing their time, talents, and resources, the people of McDonald County play an important role in helping Heroes Ranch thrive.
Their kindness, hospitality, and commitment to service help create an environment where our nation’s heroes feel welcomed, supported, and valued.
Being recognized by the community we are proud to call home makes this honor especially meaningful.
Heroes Ranch: Where Struggle Becomes Strength
As the home of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance’s programs, Heroes Ranch serves as a central gathering place for military Veterans, First Responders, and their families seeking connection, purpose, and opportunities to move forward.
SDIA’s mission is to Engage, Assist, and Empower our nation’s heroes to Get Off The Couch™ and live their best lives.
Through three primary program pillars, SDIA provides opportunities for participants to remain connected, develop resilience, and continue serving others.
Warrior PATHH: A Journey Toward Posttraumatic Growth
Warrior PATHH (Progressive and Alternative Training for Helping Heroes) provides military Veterans and First Responders with tools and training designed to help them navigate life’s challenges and pursue posttraumatic growth.
Through immersive experiences, peer support, and continued connection, participants learn to recognize their strengths, build resilience, and develop a renewed sense of purpose.
Outdoor Adventures: Connection Through Shared Experiences
SDIA’s Outdoor Adventures encourage Veterans, First Responders, and their families to step outside their routines, embrace new challenges, and build lasting connections.
Whether participating in hiking, mountain biking, archery, equine activities, or other outdoor experiences, Sheep Dogs discover opportunities to strengthen relationships and experience the camaraderie that comes from shared adventure.
Continued Service and Disaster Response Missions
For many Veterans and First Responders, helping others remains an essential part of who they are.
Through Continued Service and Disaster Response Missions, SDIA provides opportunities for participants to use their skills, leadership, and experience to assist communities in need.
These missions reinforce a belief that remains central to Sheep Dog Impact Assistance:
Helping Others Is a Way of Life.
Together, these programs provide opportunities for ongoing engagement and support, helping participants remain connected to the Sheep Dog community throughout their personal journeys.
A Community That Stands Beside Those Who Serve
The 2026 Non-Profit of the Year recognition is also an opportunity to celebrate the incredible generosity of the McDonald County community.
Heroes Ranch’s continued growth and success would not be possible without the individuals, businesses, organizations, and neighbors who believe in SDIA’s mission.
Whether volunteering at the Ranch, supporting fundraising events, providing resources, sharing our story, or simply extending a warm welcome to visiting participants, these acts of service make a lasting difference.
Each contribution helps create opportunities for military Veterans and First Responders to experience connection, encouragement, and hope.
To the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce, its members, and our neighbors throughout southwest Missouri: thank you for believing in our mission and standing beside those who have served our nation and communities.
We are honored by this recognition and grateful for the relationships that continue to make McDonald County such a special place to call home.
An Award Shared With Our Entire Sheep Dog Community
While Heroes Ranch is the recipient of this recognition, the award belongs to the many people who bring the mission of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance to life.
To our dedicated staff and volunteers who give their time, talents, and hearts to serving others.
To our donors, sponsors, and community partners whose generosity makes meaningful programs and experiences possible.
To our McDonald County neighbors who continue to welcome our Sheep Dogs and support the Ranch.
And to the military Veterans, First Responders, and families who courageously embrace opportunities for connection, growth, and renewed purpose.
This recognition is a celebration of what we can accomplish together.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce for naming SDIA Heroes Ranch a 2026 Non-Profit of the Year Co-Winner and for hosting a wonderful evening celebrating the organizations and individuals making a difference throughout the community.
