In 2024, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) made significant strides in empowering veterans and first responders to reclaim their lives through purpose and post-traumatic growth. The organization served over 3,600 Sheep Dogs through Outdoor Adventures, adding new destinations and deepening impact with 82% of participants reporting reduced stress and improved well-being. Warrior PATHH continued to change lives, helping hundreds transition from trauma to growth, while plans to expand the program at Heroes Ranch took shape, including the development of a covered equine arena. SDIA also strengthened its Continued Service initiatives, answered calls for disaster response, and grew its national footprint through strategic partnerships, leadership development, and outreach. With over 23,000 Sheep Dogs served since inception, 2024 marked a year of growth, healing, and renewed commitment to helping our nation's heroes get off the couch and back into life.

Posttraumatic Growth is a positive psychological transformation that can happen after trauma. The science of PTG demonstrates that when we’re forced to reflect on our lives and make sense of the destruction caused by trauma, our struggles can become a catalyst for change. Trauma does not have to be the end of the road, rather it can be the path to a new beginning. At SDIA, we actively teach and foster PTG through every aspect of our programs - Outdoor Adventures, Warrior PATHH, and Continued Service. Avalon Action Alliance Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) is proud to partner with Avalon Action Alliance—a national network committed to connecting veterans and first responders with life-changing care, while removing financial and geographic barriers. Together, we deliver transformative solutions for those facing the overlapping challenges of mild traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, and substance abuse—fostering growth, healing, and long-term well-being. Boulder Crest Foundation Partnership Warrior PATHH, a cornerstone of our Get Off The Couch™ programming, was developed by the Boulder Crest Foundation (BCF)—the global leader in Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) programs. Created in collaboration with Dr. Richard Tedeschi, founder of PTG and Executive Director of the Boulder Crest Institute, and Dr. Bret Moore, Army psychologist and Deputy Director, Warrior PATHH offers the first-ever training program to transform struggle into strength through PTG. SDIA began offering Warrior PATHH in Northwest Arkansas in March 2021, continuing our mission to empower our nation’s heroes with purpose, healing, and connection.
