
The Sr Chief Joseph P. Engleman Lodge honors Senior Chief Petty Officer Joseph Engleman, a Navy Seabee whose 21-year career reflected courage, leadership, and global service. A Vietnam veteran, he passed away in 2004 from Agent Orange-related complications.

MORE ABOUT SENIOR CHIEF JOSEPH P. ENGLEMAN
Jospeh P. Engleman was born on July 14, 1939, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He enlisted in the United States Navy on January 18, 1961. During his service, Senior Chief Engleman deployed twice to Vietnam as a Navy Seabee between 1969 and 1973. He retired on August 1, 1984, after serving 21 years and 7 months. Over the course of his career, he had been stationed in the United States, Guam, Korea, Okinawa, Japan, Subic Bay, Philippines, and Midway Island.
During his career, Senior Chief Petty Officer Engleman received numerous commendations and awards, including the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with 2 Gold Stars (indicating his third award), Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with Combat Insignia, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal, to name just a few.
Engleman died on September 11, 2004, from complications from exposure to Agent Orange. Senior Chief Petty Officer Joseph P. Engleman was laid to rest at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. He was 65 years old.
