From preparing Disaster Response resources and supporting a motorcycle ride to welcoming donors and delivering Thanksgiving meals, this fall offers several opportunities to volunteer, participate, give, and serve alongside SDIA.
Whether you have a few hours, want to lace up your running shoes, prefer two wheels, or simply want to help spread the word, there is a place for you in the mission.
Our Nation’s Veterans and First Responders have spent their lives answering the call for others. This September, October, and November, we’re inviting our community to answer the call for them.
September: Start the Fall with Service
September kicks off with two opportunities to get involved on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
GoodWorks Day of Service

Join SDIA volunteers for a hands-on morning supporting our Disaster Response Missions.
Volunteers will help organize and inventory SDIA’s Disaster Response Mission trailers, making sure equipment and supplies are ready when disaster strikes and our teams are called to serve.
Disaster Response Missions give Veterans and First Responders another opportunity to put their skills, experience, leadership, and desire to serve to work helping communities in need.
It may look like organizing supplies on a Saturday morning, but that preparation matters when the next call comes.
Heroes Ranch Poker Run
Saturday, September 12 | 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Starts at Mach 1 Moto in Rogers, Arkansas and ends at SDIA Heroes Ranch near Pineville, Missouri
Prefer to Get Off the Couch™ on two wheels?
Join us for the Heroes Ranch Poker Run, a ride supporting Sheep Dog Impact Assistance and our mission to engage, assist, and empower our Nation’s Veterans and First Responders.
Participants will ride from Rogers to Heroes Ranch, where the event will conclude with lunch, live entertainment, a silent auction, and a prize for the best poker hand.
Not riding? Volunteers are needed, too.
Ride it. Volunteer for it. Share it. Either way, you’re helping move the mission forward.
October: Help Us Celebrate the People Who Make the Mission Possible
SDIA Donor Appreciation Dinner

Behind every Outdoor Adventure, Warrior PATHH course, and Continued Service/Disaster Response Mission is a community of people who believe in our Nation’s Sheep Dogs.
In October, we get to celebrate them.
SDIA is seeking volunteers to help create a memorable evening for the donors whose generosity supports our programs and makes our work possible.
Volunteers will assist with event setup, welcoming guests, serving throughout the evening, and cleanup during this private Donor Appreciation Dinner at Heroes Ranch.
It is a different kind of service opportunity, but an important one. Taking care of the people who invest in this mission helps us continue taking care of the people we serve.
November: Serve Our Nation's Heroes This Thanksgiving
November brings two SDIA traditions centered on gratitude, community, and service.
Thanksgiving Outreach
Friday, November 20 + Monday, November 23
Each year, SDIA’s Thanksgiving Outreach helps provide complete Thanksgiving meals to Military members, Veterans, First Responders, and their families throughout Northwest Arkansas.
For 2026, our goal is to provide 125 complete Thanksgiving meals.
Volunteers are needed for two important stages of the effort:
Friday, November 20: Load-out and preparation
Monday, November 23: Meal pack-out and delivery
There are other ways to help, too. Supporters can donate food items, sponsor Thanksgiving boxes, make monetary contributions, volunteer their time, or help spread the word.
One box. One family. One Thanksgiving table.
Small acts of service add up quickly when a community decides to show up together.
19th Annual NWA Turkey Trot for Heroes
Thanksgiving week wraps up with another chance to move for the mission at the 19th Annual Northwest Arkansas Turkey Trot for Heroes.
Opportunities to participate and volunteer take place Wednesday, November 25 and Thursday, November 26, with the Thanksgiving morning event based at 1200 W. Walnut St. in Rogers, Arkansas.
Participants can choose the 5K, Wild Gobbler, 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, or Virtual 5K, making this an event the whole family can get involved in.
Run it.
Walk it.
Volunteer.
Cheer ridiculously loudly from the sidelines.
However you participate, you’re helping support Sheep Dog Impact Assistance and the Veterans and First Responders we serve.
You Don't Have to Wear the Uniform to Serve
One of the most important things about the SDIA community is that service doesn’t belong exclusively to the people wearing a uniform.
There is room for all of us.
You can pack a box.
Inventory equipment.
Welcome a guest.
Ride a motorcycle.
Run a 5K.
Deliver Thanksgiving dinner.
Make a donation.
Share an event with someone who might want to participate.
Or simply give a few hours of your Saturday.
Each action becomes part of something larger.
Our Veterans and First Responders have spent years showing up when people needed them. Supporting Sheep Dog Impact Assistance is one way the rest of us can show up for them.
