At Heroes Ranch, adventure meets serenity with SDIA’s Get Off The Couch™ programming — packed with activities that inspire, energize, and connect. Set against a backdrop of rolling hills, peaceful woods, and open pastures, guests can explore trails, bike rugged paths, center themselves in the yoga studio or labyrinth, and take aim at the archery range. Whether it’s cave exploring, shooting hoops, or unwinding by the fire pit, there’s something here for everyone.
ACTIVITIES
Activities on the property provide both relaxation and excitement, catering to whatever our guests may need. In addition to what is available at Heroes Ranch, other nearby activities include RZR/side-by-side riding, caving, fishing and more.
LtCol Dick White Stables
The stables at Heroes Ranch are named in honor of LtCol Dick White, a devoted Marine Corps officer and lifelong horseman whose leadership, service, and passion for equine therapy have made a lasting impact. LtCol White served his country with distinction and later dedicated himself to helping fellow veterans heal through the powerful connection between humans and horses. Naming the stables after him is a tribute to his legacy, ensuring his spirit of service and healing lives on.

Covered Equine Arena (under construction)
To expand our posttraumatic growth programming, we are building a covered equine arena which will allow us to offer equine-assisted therapy at Heroes Ranch. Currently under construction, this arena will be more than just a structure; it will be a training ground for transformation, where Warriors saddle up for their Warrior PATHH (WP) journey, shifting their mindset and forging lasting, positive change. Help us rein in the final resources and cross the finish line strong. Consider donating today.

ARCHERY
As part of the WP curriculum, archery serves as both a powerful tool and a meaningful practice. Beyond the specifics taught in WP, archery helps cultivate focus, concentration, patience, and discipline — essential skills that reach well beyond the range and into everyday life.

LABYRINTH
The labyrinth is an integral part of the WP curriculum and usually ends up being one of the students’ favorite activities. Unlike a maze, which offers many paths, a labyrinth has only one — a single, winding journey inward. Walking the labyrinth is a form of meditation, used to release what holds us back, reconnect with our center, and return renewed. In ancient Greece, warriors used labyrinths to mentally transition between the roles of citizen and soldier — laying down tools at the center to take up arms, and returning later to reclaim their peaceful lives. Today, the labyrinth continues to serve as a path of self-discovery, healing, and transformation.

HULL COURT
Hull Court is named in honor of Dr. Cheryl Hull and Hull Dermatology, whose unwavering support and generosity have played a vital role in advancing the mission of SDIA. As a dedicated community leader and advocate for veterans and first responders, Dr. Hull has consistently gone above and beyond to provide resources, encouragement, and care for those who serve. Her latest gift was this beautiful basketball & pickleball court.

Mountain Biking
Feel the adrenaline as you hit the mountain biking trails at Heroes Ranch, where rugged paths twist through scenic rolling hills and wooded terrain as part of our epic Outdoor Adventures. Whether you’re chasing speed or soaking in the serenity, Heroes Ranch delivers the perfect blend of heart-pounding excitement and picturesque views.

Granite Mountain Training Center Yoga Room
The Granite Mountain Training Center & Yoga Room is named in honor of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, elite wildland firefighters from Prescott, Arizona, who exemplified courage and selfless service. Nineteen of the 20 team members tragically lost their lives fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013—one of the deadliest days in U.S. firefighting history. This facility stands as a tribute to their legacy and a reminder of the extraordinary bravery it takes to serve others.
Yoga has been taught during our WP courses by Tree Top Yoga and other trained yogis.
