GREENLAND, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — One disaster response team is helping out the community of Greenland after a tornado hit the area on May 19.

Sheep Dog Impact Assistance aided community members who spent the day cleaning up the damage, helping people get back into their homes.

Bob Corscadden is the director of Sheep Dog. He says it has been a community-wide effort on Tuesday.

“I can’t emphasize enough how hard Greenland has been hit by this tornado, and what’s really cool about the community is they’ve all turned out to help each other,” Corscadden said.

Some residents of Greenland aren’t able to make it down their driveway or even to their front door.

After the tornado passed through on Monday night, Sheep Dog immediately dispatched volunteers to help clear away debris and limbs.

“We see a lot of people with chainsaws out there and a lot of people just dragging limbs out of the way helping their neighbor get access to their homes,” Corscadden said.

Sheep Dog will continue to clean up areas of Greenland on Wednesday.
