Sheep Dog Impact Assistance: Strategic Vision & Goals for 2025 and Beyond

Joining SDIA in opportunities for physical activities to foster camaraderie (Outdoor Adventures), peer-to-peer training to transform struggle into strength and posttraumatic growth (Warrior PATHH), and volunteer opportunities for continued service (Disaster Response), a Sheep Dogs’ innate desire to serve is again fulfilled. When Sheep Dogs #GetOffTheCouch together, their attitude and perspective are drastically improved, and many find healing and a renewed sense of purpose and belonging.

At Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA), our mission has always been clear: to engage, assist, and empower veterans and first responders to Get Off The Couch™ and find renewed purpose through community, service, and Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG).

As we celebrate our 15th anniversary in 2025, we are proud to share our strategic vision and goals for the years ahead. This roadmap ensures that every grant application, donation, partnership, and program effort is driving toward a stronger, more impactful future for our nation’s Sheep Dogs and their families.

Heroes Ranch: The Heart of Our Mission

Heroes Ranch in Jane, Missouri, has become the central hub of SDIA. In 2025, it is expanding into a fully operational, debt-free, 365-day facility that supports:

  • Warrior PATHH (peer-led training in Post-Traumatic Growth)
  • Outdoor Adventures that challenge Sheep Dogs to rediscover purpose
  • Family retreats and Gold Star partnerships
  • Leadership training and community events

With the addition of a new covered equine arena in 2025, Heroes Ranch will expand equine therapy programming, family engagement opportunities, and innovative ways for Sheep Dogs to connect, heal, and grow.

Outdoor Adventures: The Bedrock of SDIA

Our Outdoor Adventures (OA) remain the foundation of our work. These experiences get veterans and first responders “off the couch” and moving again, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

In the next five years, SDIA will:

Warrior PATHH: The Core of Self-Care and PTG

Getting off the couch is the first step. Learning how to sustain well-being comes through Warrior PATHH, SDIA’s cornerstone PTG program.

Our vision is to:

  • Sustain 15–20 Warrior PATHH courses each year
  • Graduate 180–240 veterans and first responders annually
  • Train all SDIA leaders as WP graduates
  • Explore new WP locations and even a mobile WP team

Disaster Response & Continued Service

Service is at the heart of who our Sheep Dogs are. Our Disaster Response & Continued Service (DRM/CS) teams deploy nationwide during natural disasters, and increasingly, they respond to daily community needs such as homelessness, elderly support, and youth mentorship.

Our goal is to build a full-time DRM staff team while empowering Ambassadors nationwide to lead continued service initiatives in their own communities.

Building for the Future: Partnerships & Training

To sustain long-term impact, SDIA is expanding strategic partnerships with organizations like Walmart SERVES, Boulder Crest Foundation, Avalon Action Alliance, and FLEOA.

We are also growing SDIA University, the training hub that will ensure consistent policies, leadership development, and preparedness for future generations of Sheep Dogs.

Why It Matters

Every program we run and every dollar we raise supports this vision: to get more veterans and first responders off the couch, guide them toward self-care through Warrior PATHH, and inspire them to continue serving their country and communities.

If you are a donor, your support fuels this growth.
If you are a participant, these programs are built for you.
If you are a partner, we invite you to join us in building something lasting.

Together, we are building a stronger SDIA, one that honors sacrifice, fosters healing, and empowers Sheep Dogs to thrive in every stage of life.
