Each year, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) proudly recognizes individuals who exemplify the very best of service, sacrifice, and leadership through the Sheep Dog of the Year Award. This prestigious honor celebrates military members, veterans, and first responders who have gone above and beyond in service to their communities and their country.
The Sheep Dog of the Year Award is more than recognition for a single moment of heroism. While extraordinary incidents are considered, special emphasis is placed on a sustained record of character, commitment, and impact throughout a career.
What It Means to Be a Sheep Dog
A “Sheep Dog” is someone who willingly steps forward when others step back. These are individuals who protect, serve, and lead with courage, often at great personal cost. The Sheep Dog of the Year Award honors those who embody SDIA’s core mission to Engage, Assist, and Empower our nation’s heroes and inspire others to do the same.
Award categories include:
- Military
- Law Enforcement
