At Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA), we believe growth often begins where comfort ends. This year, an extraordinary team of Veterans, First Responders, and supporters will put that belief into action as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime: climbing Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.
The annual Climb for a Cause is more than an expedition. It is a powerful demonstration of resilience, purpose, and Posttraumatic Growth. Standing at 19,341 feet above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro presents immense physical and mental challenges, requiring determination, teamwork, and perseverance every step of the way.
Presented by Sam’s Furniture and benefiting Sheep Dog Impact Assistance, the Climb for a Cause inspires participants and supporters alike to face life’s obstacles head-on while raising critical funds to support Veterans and First Responders on their own journeys toward renewed purpose and meaningful lives.
Each member of this year’s team brings a unique story, personal motivation, and unwavering commitment to the mission. From military Veterans and First Responders to community leaders and supporters, these climbers embody the spirit of “Get Off The Couch®” and demonstrate that growth happens when we choose courage over comfort.
Meet the climbers
While reaching the summit of Uhuru Peak is an incredible accomplishment, the true victory lies in the transformation that occurs throughout the journey. Every mile climbed, every challenge overcome, and every act of encouragement shared along the trail serves as a reminder that none of us climbs alone.
We invite you to follow the team’s journey, cheer them on, and support their efforts as they climb not only for themselves, but for every Veteran and First Responder seeking hope, healing, and renewed purpose.
