SHOT Show 2012

SHOT Show 2012

This was our second year in a row to attend SHOT, and we come away from each show amazed at how well we are received by all in attendance. The SHOT Show is a perfect melting pot of Sheep Dog’s and their supporters from every spectrum of the business community. As you can imagine, it is the perfect venue to share the Sheep Dog IA story and our continued efforts to support fellow Sheep Dogs in need.
There were some amazing new products and ideas, but a few companies, products and organizational efforts stood apart from the rest. Below are a few of our favorites. We encourage you to learn more by visiting the links provided. We hope you enjoy these as much as we did.
One of our favorites is the NRA’s Life of Duty. Yes, the NRA has been around for a long time, but their new effort to recognize the daily sacrifices of our nations Sheep Dogs through Life of Duty is inspiring. Their stories reflect the reason for Sheep Dog IA’s existence…we cannot & should not forget the daily sacrifices of our nations Sheep Dogs.

Our favorite nonprofit discovered at the SHOT Show is AmericanSnipers.org. AmericanSnipers.org has supported snipers and designated marksmen in over 675 different platoons of the United States military and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds and gear for US snipers in all branches of the armed forces. The program has received positive mention in major newspapers in the US and abroad, on several national television news networks and on countless radio broadcasts and internet blog sites. The National Defense Industrial Association awarded AmericanSnipers.org the Carlos N. Hathcock II Award for 2007. AmericanSnipers.org is a 501C3 non-profit organization listed under Snipersonline UA. Anyone wishing to assist the program with monetary or gear donations or for further information is invited to visit the website at www.AmericanSnipers.org
Our favorite piece of gear discovered at SHOT, and one we are considering for our disaster response teams, is the Ops-Core FAST Base Jump Sport Helmet. The military and several law enforcement agencies wear the ballistic version of this helmet, designed to stop bullets and shrapnel. The version we are considering is a lighter weight option used by sporting enthusiasts. It will give our team members the proper protection needed when working in disaster zones, and enables the wearer to attach lights, face protection and more. Visit www.ops-core.com/ if you are interested in learning additional info.
